  1. Introduction

Home Windows is committed to providing objective, trustworthy information and guidance on all door and window supply and fitting aspects.

The following sections set out our principles, standards, and processes:

  1. Principles

2.1 Accuracy

Our content will be accurate, balanced, and transparent. Information provided will be based on the best available evidence from our extensive experience in the industry, with sources named wherever possible. Where content contains conjecture or opinion, this will be indicated.

2.2 Accountability

Home Windows is accountable to its clients and the public and will deal fairly with them. We are open to admitting mistakes and encourage a culture of learning via client feedback. Additionally, our processes will be transparent.

2.3 Serving the public

Home Windows prioritises our clients’ interests when sourcing and providing door solutions. We consult with relevant industry bodies and other interest groups, ensuring our clients’ needs remain paramount.

2.4 Taste and decency

All content on our website will be suitable for a general audience and will not include material reasonably deemed offensive.

2.5 Impartiality and diversity of opinion

Our content will be objective and even-handed. Where views differ, we will reflect all significant strands of opinion and clearly state any uncertainty.

2.6 Privacy

We are committed to maintaining strict privacy controls. Personal information, including any correspondence, will not be disclosed without the user’s prior explicit consent unless required for legal reasons (such as a Court Order) or if disclosure is in the public interest.

2.7 Funding

Home Windows funds our online communications. MR Home Improvement Ltd, trading as Home Windows, is registered in England. We do not carry advertising and do not accept corporate sponsorship.

  1. Standards

Home Windows has a dedicated team. We clearly mandate to provide accurate, balanced, and transparent information. No staff member will be asked or permitted to provide favoured treatment to any partner organisation, and all must fully disclose any interests they may have in any door supply-related companies or organisations.

  1. Staff Training

All staff are given training to ensure standards are met.

  1. Editorial process

5.1 Phase 1: Research

Our knowledge is derived from direct experience with door supply and fitting. We consult with industry experts and people directly affected by the topic.

5.2 Phase 2: Production

Once drafted, content is edited for accuracy, balance, tone, and clarity. It then thoroughly checks for factual errors, spelling, grammar, and adherence to our house style. We also use Grammarly for editing.

5.3 Phase 3: Policy sign-off

The Marketing Manager must approve our policies before they are published online.

5.4 Phase 4: Review of content

Our content is reviewed systematically. Primary content is reviewed annually, and less susceptible to change is reviewed every two years. User comments are considered daily, and content is amended immediately if necessary.

  1. Appeals procedure

In the unlikely event of a complaint that the editor cannot resolve, the matter will be escalated to the Managing Director.
