If you do require a certificate, then FENSA will supply one to after the installation.
A: In addition to reducing your ‘U’ value and saving you money each year on your heating bills, our soft coat low-E glass creates far fewer cold spots and drafts near windows and doors; the inner surface of the glass stays warmer, thereby reducing condensation and less tint on the glass means a brighter, more comfortable room.
A: uPVC, also known as “unplasticised polyvinyl chloride”, is a plastic commonly used for doors and windows in modern homes.
One of the reasons for its popularity is how low maintenance it is and its ability in a range of different climates.
A: We offer a variety of high-quality windows, including uPVC casement windows, uPVC sliding sash windows, and aluminium windows for different homes and styles. Casement windows are popular in the UK. Hinged at the side, they open outwards, providing ease of use and a classic look. uPVC sliding sash windows slide up and down or side to side, adding elegance and practicality. Our aluminium windows are modern, durable, and energy-efficient, and their slim frames let in more natural light.
A: For the glass in our windows and doors, we can offer Low E options, laminated glass, solar control glass, triple-glazed and more.
Each choice will be energy efficient and offer high levels of security so that you can have peace of mind about the performance of your glazed glass panels.
A: Absolutely! You can get a pattern or design on the glass panels of your windows, as all of our doors and windows are made-to-order.
We have a selection of different glass patterns to choose from, with tons of elegant and unique designs to make your uPVC windows stand out.
A: The main difference between uPVC and aluminium is that aluminium is much stronger and more secure than uPVC and is also much less likely to be affected by changing weather.
uPVC doors can often grow and shrink in hot and cold weather, meaning that the door gets misshaped and is no longer as effective.
Factors such as this have led to aluminium becoming a much more popular choice compared to uPVC.
A: Much like all of our aluminium and composite doors, our aluminium windows are highly energy efficient.
On top of that, customers can also choose between a wide range of glazing options for the panels that will lower the U-value of the aluminium windows, further improving efficiency.
A: All of our uPVC windows have double glazing as the standard when they are manufactured, which offers a greater level of energy efficiency and soundproofing.
This is due to the 2 panels of glass that are fitted within the door frame, which also makes them stronger and more secure.
If you are looking for something even better than double glazing, other types of glass are available depending on your preferences.
These options include triple glazing and solar control glass, which can further enhance the level of energy efficiency and insulation of your windows.
A: The size of your customised door will differ depending on the type of door you choose, but you can entirely design it.
Our aluminium doors, such as bi-folds, French doors and patio doors, tend to have more width and height compared to a composite door, but both can be heavily customised.
You can check the maximum sizes of each type of door on our door builder, along with tons of other design options.
A: No matter what door you choose, all of our door types can be made-to-order in a range of colours, including our standard colours of black, white and anthracite grey.
If you are looking for a colour that is more out there than our standard colours, our doors and windows can also come in various RAL colours for a slightly uplifted cost.
A: The biggest difference between composite doors and uPVC doors is the strength and durability of the materials. Composite doors are much more durable when met with force or extreme weather conditions, whereas uPVC doors can be easily damaged.
On top of this, uPVC doors are far more likely to expand and contract in changing temperatures, which can make them misshape and reduce their energy efficiency. This would also mean that uPVC doors require more repairs and replacement than composite doors, with the latter potentially being the more cost-effective option despite the initial price.
A: Absolutely! All of our doors meet and exceed PAS 24 2016 security standard requirements, in addition to being fitted with a 3-Star anti-snap Ultion locking system, making it extremely difficult to break in.
Composite doors are also a very solid material that is very challenging to break through or damage, especially when compared to other materials, like uPVC or timber.
A: When purchasing a door for your home and getting it installed, you expect the door to be there for a very long time, which is exactly the case with aluminium bifold doors.
Due to aluminium being a very low-maintenance material, you can expect your bifold doors to last well over 30 years and up to 45 years if looked after and maintained well.
Aluminium bifold doors are more resistant than other materials to warping or misshaping, so you usually only need to look after them with some warm water and soap to keep them clean.
A: When looked after with regular maintenance, a uPVC will last as long as 30 years, which makes it a long-term part of your home.
It is a good idea to regularly clean your doors with warm, soapy water, as well as get your door serviced to make sure it hasn’t warped or misshapen too badly.
